Movie batch

It’s been a while since I last wrote about the movies I’ve seen and since I’m quite a movie maniac, I want to share with you. So here’s the list:

The informant – Boring. Yes, it has a cute little twist, but it’s not nearly enough to capture my attention.

Law abiding citizen – Gerard Butler plays his part very, very well. I must say I liked it very much.

Shutter island – Great movie! Although I’m not a Leo di Caprio fan, he totally deserves an Oscar for this part.

Shall we kiss – A cute little movie about a kiss. Just one kiss that captures the entire essence of a relationship.
It’s complicated – Romance between people that could be our parents. A cute movie about how you have to let yourself go and love blindly, even if you’re not in your 20s.
Up in the air – Lovely movie that left a very bitter taste in my mouth. Loneliness is one of the hardest things to deal with.
Everybody’s fine – When the kids are all grown up and have their own lives, what is there left to do? A movie about the importance of sincerity towards those around us and an important lesson to be learned by all.
The apartment – Oldies, but goldies. I’ve been meaning to watch this movie for a long time. Simple, clean and with crisp emotions. I liked it.
Valentine’s day – If you’ve had a long day and you want to watch something not challenging at all, well, this is it. Too many stars in that movie, though. And too much mushiness.

The time traveler’s wife – A lovely story that teaches us how to appreciate more the time we spend with our loved ones.
Dorin Gray – A fairly good movie. I watched it with a very critical eye, since The Portrait of Dorian Gray is one of my favourite books of all times. I think the painter’s character needed more emphasis, but, overall, it has captured the essence of the book.

I love you, Beth Cooper – Teen comedy. Mediocre at best.

G-force – Animation. Just an inch above average.

All about Steve – Yes, Sandra Bullock totally deserved the Raspberry for it.

Did you hear about the Morgans? – Cute, but not worth watching.

The men who stare at goats – George Clooney does it again. A movie as insane as it’s title. Totally worth watching.

Cloudy with a chance of meatballs – Animation. Fun, but not very moving.

The penguins of Madagascar Operation – Fantastically good fun! 😀 I love those penguins!

Planet 51 – A very, very cute animation movie. It’s nice to see stereotypes turned upside down.

Objectified – A great documentary about object design. I enjoyed it a lot!

Valentino: the last emperor – To build and maintain an empire in fashion for as long as Valentino has done it, it’s quite incredible. I gained a lot more appreciation for his creation after watching this. And I believe the dresses he has designed are some of the most incredible pieces of fashion ever made.

Helvetica – A documentary about fonts can be so much more interesting than you might think. I recommend it!
