Charming Verona

Many are the wonders of Italy and each city and town has a distinct personality, but none of them stuck with me as Verona did. I don’t know how, but this city simply slipped into my heart and I can’t seem to let it go.

The outskirts of Verona as far from impressive, but as you approach the center of the city and drive under arches and along ancient city walls, a story starts to unfold.

Passing the Adige river over the Ponte Pietra, a bridge completed in 100 BC, you start to find pieces of the puzzle that is the great roman history.

Abano Terme – relaxed in Italy

Imagine a small Italian town. Quiet, warm, perfectly decorated with old olive trees and colorful flowers.
Imagine a small town filled with hotels and German and Austrian tourists.
Imagine a town with a weekly market, filled with fish, flowers, fruit, antiques and Chinese clothes sellers.
Imagine a town with farms, old buildings, beautiful cathedrals and restaurants with exquisite food.

Imagine Abano Terme.
Located on the eastern slope of the Colli Euganei, only a few kilometers from Padova, Abano is the town of hot springs (as hot as 80°C) and mud baths, which explains the tourists and the hotels.
The great food is simply explained by the great Italian cuisine, which I am a huge fan of! And if you just so happen to eat at Ancora restaurant, while in the area, you’ll see exactly what I mean.

To live there, well, my aunt could tell you all about it. It’s just so peaceful that you can’t possibly feel stressed. Everything just flows naturally and to wake up with this view:

Padova – Italian elegance and refinement

Padova is one of the classiest cities I’ve seen so far. Everything about it is exquisite and one can’t help but feel special. The city’s streets are filled with young Italian men and women, students in most parts as Padova is one of the biggest and oldest university centers in Europe. Every single corner is perfect. I believe you can’t take a bad picture in Padova. It’s simply impossible.

Italia, la bella Italia

După o vară plină de oameni frumoși, locuri minunate văzute și proiecte ce mi-au adus multă satisfacție, e vremea pentru o pauză scurtă, scurtă. Așa că o săptămână voi fi plecată în frumoasa Italie, de unde voi veni cu poze, povești și, sunt sigură, cu o poftă mare de net. 🙂 Am planuri mari pentru toamna asta, așa că trebuie să-mi fac un plin de energie, care va începe diseară, cu Markus Schulz! 😀

Redescoperă România: Dobrogea, ziua 3

În ultima zi din Redescoperă România am încercat să nu ne gândim foarte mult la sfârșit și ne-am animat, bucurându-ne de frumoasele plaiuri dobrogene.

Am pornit prin a căuta Peștera Casian, pe care însă n-am reușit să o găsim din cauza lipsei unui indicator și din cauza vegetației excesive. Am căzut însă o căprioară sprintenă și frumoasă foc, ce ne-a ieșit în cale pe drum spre peșteră.

Am ajuns apoi la Cheile Dobrogei, care nu sunt foști munți, așa cum aveam tendința să cred, ci recifuri de corali după fundul unei foste mări. Priveliștea este unică! Tot aici Doru ne-a învățat să tragem cu arcul, lucru care m-a făcut să mă simt un pui de amazoană. Chiar mi-ar plăcea să repet experiența.
